Project: “IRI KFW: Study “Economic Impact Assessment” of 9 infrastructure project files in the coastal areas of Qeparo, Borsh, Piqeras and Lukova IRI, KfW, 2021”.

Purpose: The Project for Integrated Regional Development, funded by the German Government through KFW Development Bank, supports the Government of Albania to foster economic development and job creation in the regions of Korca and Vlora by the provision of municipal infrastructure with a focus on sustainable tourism-related infrastructure. The investment program includes investments in the urban centers as well as complementary sites in rural areas that are of cultural and/or natural interest and contribute to the touristic profile of these regions.  In addition, infrastructure strengthening private sector development, e.g., manufacturing industries or agriculture, is supported under the program. The program aims at promoting job creation in the program areas by fostering locally based sustainable tourism and/or private sector development through investments in the municipal infrastructure. Objective of assignment :

The objective of the assignment is to support sustainable regional economic development and job creation in the regions of Korça and Vlora by strengthening municipal infrastructure, promoting sustainable tourism, and supporting private sector development, particularly in rural and culturally or naturally significant areas.
